Philly Rhino works to publish accurate local reporting. When we get something wrong, we fix it clearly and openly.
How corrections work
If an article contains an error, we correct the error in the article itself. We add a note at the top of the article that says a correction was made, what was corrected in general terms, and the date of the correction.
We do not silently delete or rewrite published reporting to hide an error. If an article is updated with new information that is not a correction, we may add an update note with the date and time.
In serious cases, for example, if a central claim in an article is wrong, we may add a stronger editor’s note to the article explaining the problem.
How to report an error
Email contact@phillyrhino.com with:
The link to the article
The statement you believe is wrong
What the correct information is, and a source for it if you have one
We review every correction request. Not every disagreement about coverage is an error, but every factual error we can verify will be corrected.
Names and safety
If an article names a person in a crime or public safety report based on an official release, and that information is later changed or cleared by officials, tell us, and we will review updating the article.
