Philly Rhino reports from public sources first.
Our sources include Philadelphia City Council records and meetings, city agency releases, SEPTA notices, School District of Philadelphia records, zoning and planning agendas, court and public safety releases where available, business and chamber of commerce announcements, and neighborhood civic association meetings.
How a report is made
We pull the facts from the source material first: names, dates, times, places, amounts, and decisions. We write the article in our own words from those facts. We do not copy articles from other outlets, and we do not rewrite another outlet’s article line by line.
When reporting from another news outlet leads us to a story, we work to verify it against a primary source before publishing.
Quotes
We publish a quote only if it appears word for word in a meeting transcript, recording, or official release.
Use of AI tools
Philly Rhino uses technology tools, including AI tools, to help summarize long public records, organize source material, and draft reports. A human editor reviews every article before it is published. Technology helps with the workload; a person is responsible for what goes on this site.
Images
We use our own photos, official maps and documents with credit, and embedded public posts where appropriate. We do not take photos from other news sites without permission.
Corrections
If we make an error, we correct the article and note the correction. See our Corrections Policy page for how to report an error.
