Tacony Street drivers, take note: the street is not just closing at night. It is closing during the day, too.
PennDOT’s current schedule has Tacony Street closed and detoured on weekdays between Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 20, for overhead bridge construction. That daytime closure sits on top of the weeknight closures already in effect from 7 PM to 5 AM through November 13.
During the daytime closure, northbound drivers will be sent up Aramingo/Harbison Avenue, right onto James Street, and right onto Bridge Street to get back to Tacony Street. Southbound drivers will turn right onto Bridge Street, left onto James Street, and left onto Aramingo/Harbison Avenue.
The work is part of the ongoing I-95 reconstruction around the Bridge Street interchange. Schedules are weather dependent, and PennDOT advises allowing extra time through the area.
Southbound Tacony Street also remains reduced to one lane between Bridge Street and Van Kirk Street through late 2027.
